What
materials are available on Vocabulary A-Z?
Vocabulary A-Z has thousands of words that are split into three Tiers.
Tier One words are appropriate for early emergent readers (grades K-1).
Tier Two words are found in general elementary education curriculums
(grades 2-6), and Tier Three words are generally found in middle and
high school curriculums (grades 6+).
Words are also separated into functional
word categories such as Adjectives, Adverbs, Compound Words, Nouns, and
Verbs; and content word categories such as Arts, Health, Language Arts,
Mathematics, Music, Physical Education and Sports, Miscellaneous,
Science, and Social Studies.
These words are used to generate custom
vocabulary lessons and assessments. Word activities and worksheets are
available based on the Word List the user generates.

Left Behind Act?

the No Child Left Behind Act. For more information, please visit the

section of Vocabulary A-Z for a copy.
How
do I locate
Vocabulary words?
Choose from the categories of words available on the left-hand
side. Chose a category, select a
sub-category if applicable, and the available words will appear under
the appropriate tier according to the difficulty level.
Words are also separated into functional
word categories such as Adjectives, Adverbs, Compound Words, Nouns, and
Verbs; and content word categories such as Arts, Health, Language Arts,
Mathematics, Music, Physical Education and Sports, Miscellaneous,
Science, and Social Studies.
Can I search for a
specific word?
Yes. A search field is located in the
upper left hand corner of the website. Enter the word and results will
appear in the main portion of the screen.
Can I add my own words?
In order to allow for customized lessons, each Vocabulary A-Z word is
pre-defined. At this time, we are not equipped to offer the capability
for each customer to input his/her own words. However, we continue to
expand upon the words available and would be happy to consider any
words submitted by our customers through our customer service
department at
support@learninga-z.com.
Please include the word, the part-of-speech, and the subject area in
your request.
Do your words or
lessons correlate to the other Learning A-Z products?
Yes. Vocabulary A-Z provides a direct correlation to Reading A-Z and
Science A-Z glossary words. Look for the Reading A-Z Book Connections
and Science A-Z Book
Connections
categories under New Words. Reading A-Z glossary terms
are listed first by level and then by book title. Science A-Z glossary
terms are listed first by science domain, then grade, and finally
unit.
What
are Reading A-Z
and Science A-Z
Book Connections?
Reading
A-Z Book Connections are glossary terms from Reading A-Z
Leveled Readers. They are currently available for Reading A-Z levels
K-Z.
Science
A-Z Book
Connections are glossary terms for Science A-Z books.
Why do Connections words
differ from the original text in another Learning A-Z product?
Vocabulary
A-Z offers words in present tense, singular form while Reading A-Z and
Science A-Z glossary terms appear as they are in the context of the
book. We've made every effort to ensure the words and definitions are
similar.
How often
are new words posted on
the website?
We generally post new words to the website once a month. We encourage
you to visit often and check for updates in the What's New box on
the
Vocabulary
A-Z home page.
